Kamikaze

I was driving to work at 6am in my little cold car, freezing to death, when a barely saw a figure walking across the road, in full black clothes. Not only that all my windows were fogged up and my car was too cold to turn the demister on. I had my head out the window to make sure I didn’t hit the guy, but far out what is it with people dressing up in dark clothes and strolling accross the road, taking there time asking to be ran over. Isn’t it wrong to dress in dark clothes in the night with no reflectors or nothing?

It was either Johnny Cash, (although he is dead) a Goth, although they only come out at night, or a left wing academic from the local uni. And all of the above have some sort of mandate that compells them to where black…

Yeah Matt, I think you’e got it in one, Kamikaze, or a death wish!

All I know is that he was crazy! Make home curfew for gothics in the dark :D

I too have come across some idiots of late that think it’s a good idea to run across in front of traffic, stand in the centre of the road while crossing in a dark spot wearing dark clothing. Driving can be stressful enough without kamikaze pedestrians. Cyclist are the other group that seem to lack road sense.

Lol I couldn’t agree more!!! I’m in my car driving to work by 5.30am four mornings per week, and I’ve noticed a few people doing that same thing in the last few weeks… I wonder (and hope they’re not) if they’re doing it purposely… :-S

Years ago there was a road safety campaign in England “Wear something white” intended to cut down the number of night accidents, especially in the winter months.

It worked well until one guy - who had taken it to extremes and wore white shoes, white trousers, white jacket and a white scarf - was inexplicably run down and killed by a snow plough !

DAMN! The poor man. I bet they are trying to get hit purposely so they can sue us and make a quick buck! :(

I know I shouldn’t laugh but thats sort of funny hg.

    hannahsgranpa you are hilarious!
Most people seem to have a “it will never happen to me” philosophy. The busier the road the slower they stroll across the street. Four lanes and over and the pedestrians seem to think they can shelter for a while on the centre white line and judge which way they should lean to avoid the traffic - crazy!! Good dodging mattsfolio!!

Black really is the only shade to wear. So dignified and striking. It might mean you get hit by more cars, but by gee, it’s worth it. :D

… Still, with great style comes great responsibility… when one wears black, one must be extra careful crossing roads.

Curfews and reflectors are not the answer!!

I nearly ran over a motorcyclist in really foggy weather. He nearly killed me!!! He beat on my window and I huddled up in a ball until his rage past. Very scary …. the lesson in this story is …. never nearly run someone over -you’ll get beaten alive!!!!

lol to many of the comments above. They say black is slimming but maybe wear it during the day when it is bright and sunny :D

Hehe… aww, but Mr Mattsfolio, you know what they say about Once You Go Black… my wardrobe is definitely in the advanced stages of Never Going Back. I think taking a few extra minutes to make sure there’s no cars coming when crossing the road is a lot easier and cheaper than buying, and then *shudders* actually wearing, non-black clothes. :)

Then of course you also get the morons who get off a tram or bus and immediately walk in front or behind it to cross the road! Just asking to get hit!

Yeah, Trams are the worst! They are like in the middle of the road so it becomes hard to get around them.
