You Are What You Eat
Published 1 year, 5 months ago in Eat & Drink. If you eat a lot of pies, pasties or any other pastry based foods, maybe you should re-consider. Today I went into a bakery, only to discover how pastry is made. I must warn you though that it’s very unhealthy and is very fatty.
Pastry is made the same way in bakeries as it is in supermarkets. The procedure is like this, a big clump of doe with margarine blocks spread out all over it. The big clump is then rolled up and folded over 5 times, continuously. I was disgusted at this, realizing that pastry is made up of 50% margarine. Not only that, I did some more digging into other bakery foods and also found out that croissants are made up of 50% butter. Yuck! That’s the last time I eat croissants and pastry based foods again.

Don’t give up on pastry yet! It’s so delicious I don’t care how much or what kind of fat they put in it. Except maybe human fat. But even then…
As long as you use up the amount of calories that you eat, you won’t put on weight from the massive amounts of butter in the pastry. Treats are okay as long as your diet is healthy (remember the food pyramid?). And when you’re young you can get away with eating pretty much whatever you want!
Hey, that’s true
I have been a little lazy lately… going to have to get into the sport again.
j’aime des croissants. vive le beurre.
