Stay Warm This Winter

Melburnian weather is pretty crazy these days, with its cold, intense days, so it’s essential you take precaution and avoid the nasty bugs going around.

Eat Healthy: It’s important to eat warm, healthy foods in the winter and cool foods in the summer.

Exercise More: I know that it’s hard to exercise in the winter, but you have to push yourself sometimes. Keeping fit and active can help boost your immune system.

Get Medicated: Drink plenty of water and take some healthy vitamins if you need to.

Stay Warm: Make sure to dress yourself properly in the winter by wearing layers of clothes or a nice, thick jumper to stay extra warm. :)

Sleep Well: Last but not least, make sure you get a good nights sleep every night.

I hope these tips keep you out of trouble and remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. ;)

Common Crap

Commonwealth bank has made me a little disappointed and annoyed. It’s fair enough that they are trying to improve on there security measures, but some of the stuff they do is just ridicolous.

I tried applying for Net Banking today using my bank card, but was rejected when I supposedly typed one of my details incorrectly. I was then notified with a message saying “You need to try over the phone to register for your Net Banking.”

After ringing Commonwealth, I attempted to apply for the Net Banking and failed once again. Once you fail over the phone then you need to go to the branch and register it.

There has to be a new, easier system because it’s getting to the point where it’s just impossible to get anything. Please Commonwealth, do something about it!

Inspire Me People!

With the Nook Exhibition getting closer each day, I am getting more and more stressed on what to do. :(

Maybe a few people can suggest a few ideas, as I am totally clueless on what to make. I am good at Multimedia stuff, so I ideas in that field would be great! Need some sort of theme to work with too. Help!

Something Smells Phishy

There are a lot of online scams going around so it’s good to familiarize yourself with what’s fake and what’s not.

So can you tell a fake Web site from a real one? Do you always know which e-mails are legitimate? If not, why not take the challenge today!

The Simpsons

Just got home from watching The Simpsons movie at the cinemas and it was great! I am a big fan of the series, so this was a must see for me.

Now I can’t give away too much about the movie because there will be some very unhappy people looking at me, but yeah, the movie is awesome! It’s funny, well made, well animated and has it’s great moments. I highly recommend watching it.

Bytes And Pieces

Did you know you can build a brand new internet / work computer for less then $300? Yes folks, you heard right, an unbelievable price of $300 and you don’t have to waste your money at Harvey Norman or any of those stores.

Let’s start with the parts, now this is just the computer, it doesn’t come with a monitor, although I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to pick one up for free.

Most people may already know the key parts of a computer, but I’m going to bring it up anyway and add a couple of additional parts. The key parts include the following:

  • CPU
  • Motherboard
  • RAM
  • Hard Drive
  • DVD Burner
  • Case
  • Mouse + Keyboard

AMD 754 Sempron 2800+ CPU: I highly recommend an AMD as they are cheap and are very reliable. You can pick one up for less than $40, which is a definite bang for your buck!

Asus K8V-VM All In One Motherboard: This all in one motherboard has it all and is perfect for the AMD CPU. The motherboard has all the required ports needed, including an onboard graphics card and it only costs $55.

512MB Kingston DDR RAM: With an all time low, you can pick up a stick of 512MB Kingston RAM for only $30 and it does the job very nicely.

Seagate 80GIG HDD: Considering this computer will only be for daily internet use and general work, I suggest you get an 80GIG Hard Drive which is plenty of space. Being a touch over $50 it’s well worth it.

LG Dual Layer DVD Burner: I suggest a DVD burner because it’s only $20 more than a standard CD burner and it does everything you need. You should be able to get one for around $45.

Computer Case: Don’t fuss about a case, maybe get something nice and small, that has a little bit of style to it. You shouldn’t spend more than $40 for a decent case with a power supply.

Logitech Mouse + Keyboard: For under $20 you should be able to pick up a bundle which comes with an optical mouse and good keyboard.

Last but not least, putting the computer together. If you feel pretty confident, why not build it yourself. If you don’t like the thought then you may have to fork out an extra $19.95 for labour. :)

Well there you have it, for less than $300 you have yourself a pretty darn good computer. But wait! don’t forget the Operating System! Why not download a FREE version of Ubuntu 7.04 which would work like a treat on a computer like this one.

New Website Launch!

New design! Yep, that’s right, it has been a little over 6 months and I got sick of the old design. Also because some people were complaining that my old interface had too much colourful text which was very hard to read. Well all should be a little better, the writing is pretty small. =)

I am still contemplating with the idea of totally ditching this domain name (tropicaan.com) and moving back to blog.mattsfolio.com with this design. What are your thoughts people?

Feel free to comment ;) www.tropicaan.com

What’s Up Admin Nooksters?

It’s weird, I have posed 2 articles a couple of days ago and they haven’t been published for the public yet. What’s up with that?

Is anyone else having the same troubles / difficulties? I am totally confused.

Catch Of The Day

I was flicking through thursdays Green Guide, when a particular advertisement caught my attention. ‘Catch Of The Day.’ I skimmed through the ad, reading the details and it seemed pretty straight forward enough.

They sell one product per day at a ridiculously cheap price. Now I know that your probably thinking “Only one item per day!” But I think it’s pretty clever and creative in its own little way. I think it’s all about finding the right item on the right day. :)

Make sure not to miss out on a great deal, check it out today.

MySpace Pimpin’

Why do people always get all the fun of making their own accounts on the internet? I think it’s time for a change! Let animals rebel against the human world. :)

My cousin thought of an funny idea for creating her dog, Pepsi, a myspace account. So me and her whipped it up and voula! Make sure to check out this pimped up myspace account. Enjoy! :D

**NOTE**
I haven’t forgot about you Shadowmaster ;)
